Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you sign up through one, the vendor may pay us a commission at no extra cost to you. Those links go through /go/ and are marked rel="sponsored nofollow". A commission never changes a rating, a verdict or the order of a list.
How to spot one
- The link points to a path that starts with
/go/on this site, then redirects to the vendor. - In the page source the link has
rel="sponsored nofollow". - Paid placements are also labelled “Sponsored” on the page.
What happens when you click
The /go/ route looks up the entry, picks its affiliate URL (or the vendor website if there is none), records the click, and sends you on. The click record holds the collection, the slug, the destination URL, the referring page, the country and the time. It does not hold your name or your account. More in the privacy policy.
What we promise
Promise | Detail |
|---|---|
No pay-for-rating | Payment does not alter ratings. See how ratings work. |
No pay-for-order | Editorial lists are not reordered for commission. |
Labelled | Paid links and slots are marked as such. |
Honest about gaps | An entry with no affiliate link links straight to the vendor. |
Not every link is affiliate
Links to documentation, repositories and sources are plain links. Links that members add carry rel="ugc". Most links on a page are not paid, and the paid ones are marked.
Product names
We use product and company names descriptively. We are not affiliated with the vendors we list unless a page says so, and a listing is not an endorsement.
Questions
The broader picture is in how we make money. To report an unlabelled link, use contact.
Common questions
Does it cost me more? No. The vendor pays the commission, and the price you see is the vendor’s price. We do not add a margin.
Do you only list products that pay? No. Entries come from public sources and appear whether or not a vendor has an affiliate programme. Many entries have no affiliate link at all.
Can a vendor ask to be reviewed more kindly because they pay? They can ask. The answer is no, and the editorial policy says why.
Do the labels apply to the whole page? The label applies to the link or slot it sits on. A page can mix plain, sponsored and member links, each marked for what it is.
