Zed is a code editor with built-in AI, available on macOS, Linux and Windows, with MCP support, and it can host agents such as Claude Agent and Codex CLI. Its pricing page on 31 October 2026 lists Personal at $0 forever with the editor and unlimited accepted edit predictions on a trial basis, Pro at $10 a month with $5 of tokens included and usage-based billing beyond that, and Business at $30 per seat a month. A 14-day Pro trial includes $5 of usage and needs no card. We would suggest it to developers who care about editor speed and want agent features without leaving a native editor. The main limit is that Pro includes only $5 of tokens, so regular agent use bills by usage on top, and the editor is a smaller ecosystem than the VS Code family. Our licence data lists it as other, so read the repository terms before bundling. We have not used Zed ourselves.
