ccstatusline is a customisable status line for the Claude Code command line, with themes and powerline styling. The README says no installation is needed, because you can run it straight through npx -y ccstatusline@latest, or use bunx if you prefer Bun. It comes from sirmalloc, uses the MIT licence and has 13.5 thousand stars, with a last push on 31 October 2026. We suggest it when the stock status line is too bare and you want model name, context use or git branch visible at a glance. It runs on every prompt refresh, so keep the widgets few if your machine is slow. If you want a broader display of tools and agents, Claude HUD goes further, while ccstatusline stays focused on one line of text. It reads local session data and we saw nothing in the README that sends it elsewhere, though we have not audited the code.
