Codeburn is a free local tool that tracks token use and cost across 37 coding tools and agents, including Claude Code, Cursor, Codex and Gemini, broken down by model, project and task. The README leads with npx codeburn, and says npm install -g codeburn or brew install codeburn will keep it. It is MIT licensed, with 11.6 thousand stars, and the repository sits under getagentseal. Our registry data lists it as an MCP server, but it is mainly a reporting tool you run yourself. We would suggest it to anyone surprised by an agent bill, since seeing cost per project is the quickest way to find the one habit that burns money. It reads local usage files, so its numbers are only as good as what each tool writes to disk. Compare it with ccusage if you only use Claude Code. Last push 31 October 2026, and we have not run it.
