FunASR is an open-source speech recognition toolkit from ModelScope covering training, inference, streaming recognition, voice activity detection, punctuation and speaker diarisation, with OpenAI-compatible serving, per its repository. This entry is its MCP server, shipped as a container run with docker run -i --rm ghcr.io/modelscope/funasr-mcp:0.1.2 over stdio. The licence is MIT, and the parent repository shows 20.9 thousand stars. We would suggest it to people who want an agent to transcribe audio on their own machine, so recordings do not go to a hosted service. The main limits are that the image tag is pinned at 0.1.2 in our entry, so check for a newer one, that speech models need disk space and ideally a GPU, and that we did not review which languages the models cover. The repository was pushed on 28 October 2026, and we have not run the server.
