SocratiCode is a codebase intelligence server offering hybrid semantic search, dependency graphs, symbol-level impact analysis and call flow, with an interactive HTML viewer. Its description makes large claims, including 61 percent fewer tokens, 84 percent fewer calls and 37 times faster, and says it handles 40 million lines of code. Those are the project's figures, not ours. The maintainer is giancarloerra, the install is npx -y socraticode over stdio, and the licence is AGPL 3.0, a strong copyleft licence that applies if you modify and host it. The repository has 3.4 thousand stars and was last pushed on 23 October 2026. We would suggest trying it on a codebase you know, so you can judge whether its answers match reality. The description mentions a cloud version in beta. We have not run it.
